“Accept what life offers you and try to drink from every cup. All wines should be tasted; some should only be sipped, but with others, drink the whole bottle.”

Do you like wine? I do and I am Italian, so I used to drink so many different wines. Since I’m here in Lanzarote, I drink a couple, of course Lanzarote is smaller. Anyway the feeling when I drink a good wine didn’t change. I always like to sip a good white or red after dinner, while I’m on the couch watching a movie, examining how I spent the day. Usually even it was a bad day, my glass of wine tell me I need to relax and having a good shower instead of being frustrated.
Again, even if Lanzarote is a little island, they make wine too and the vineyards are very typical and distinct from the familiar ones. If you look this site from the top, you believe you are in front a piece of art. This place is known as La Geria, declared a ‘Protected Area’ occupying about 52 square kilometres, located in the middle of Lanzarote. The main wines made in La Geria are from the Malvasía grape, a very sweet wine differentiating in white, red or rosé. The real characteristic is the shape: a cone-shaped hollow unearthed in natural layers of volcanic gravel. In the center the vine is planted and around it is built an half-moon wall in order to protect it from the wind. That’s why from the top you see a painting in green and black, a unique canary landscape.
If you are a wine connoisseur you will love it and I also suggest to have a Wine Tour to get know better about Lanzarote wine. We met Wine Tour Lanzarote and we had a great day around La Geria, visiting three great wineries. The service is amazing, they come to pick you up in hotel or even if you are staying in a private house, and they bring you back at the end of the tour. They organized daily tour and you will be part of small groups, honestly better than group of 15 or 20 people where the risk is not getting involved.

These two guys have found their way and new life in the island, a good weather and the waves of the sea captured both. They totally had other jobs before, but their passion for this unique story about wine in Lanzarote, just make them so perfect as guides for your unforgettable wine tour.
