what does it mean 'holiday'?
We have always different point of views about everything. For example, what do you think about the word ‘holiday‘? I’m quite sure your mind has so much to say and to show, probably more pictures than words. Many of you are waiting for holiday once a year, others once a month. This depends on our different lifestyle and job, of course. What about us? Well, since we live here in Lanzarote, we feel everyday in holiday for many reasons.
- we are constantly surrounded by tourists
- good weather all year, no less that 20°C
- our life is in flip flops
We capture 'holiday'. We eat and drink 'holiday'. We drive 'holiday'.
I’m not saying is bad, absolutely. Just saying our ‘holiday’ word has contrasting shades and other perceptions, especially when we are at home in the island. We capture ‘holiday’. We eat and drink ‘holiday’. We drive ‘holiday’. Last week we have really been in holiday (I mean, we didn’t work) and we accentuated more what I just wrote. We went to a new good restaurant (we eat and drink ‘holiday), we ate good food and had a good glass of wine. I drink and I eat more slow than usual because I’m not in hurry and I can just taste every single piece. I don’t scream with frustration and my temperament sees just bright colors. This is holiday for us while we are here. When we are going in a real holiday, it changes just the location, possibly we always choose mountains or different environment, not sea or desert. We both grew up close to the mountains and green area, we miss them a lots.
Watch the video "Dancing in Los Charcones"
So we spent the week between relax on the couch and exploring new part of the island (we drive ‘holiday’). I would say a good compromise! We have been in the south of Lanzarote finding Los Charcones, stunning natural pools close to Playa Blanca. Its beauty reminded me a painting with turquoise colors and gold shades from the volcanic rocks. Walking on the rocks to reach the best view of this place was quite risky in certain moments, but here again the feeling of holiday: sense of adventure. So I walked and climbed few rocks and my personal reward was a regenerating bath in green and blue deep waters. One of my favorite place in the world is under the water where the water itself cuddles my thoughts turning off my brain. All this could be summarized in the video we called “Dancing in Los Charcones”. Go there, pay attention of every single wave, every single color around you. The rhythm of the water splashing against the rocks, don’t you have the feeling to dance in this natural atmosphere? We did.
Totally forgot, when capture ‘holiday’ is because wherever we go we always have our camera. Of course.
